Querida Comunidad,
We're gearing up as the weather cools down. This change of the seasons also brings "Hispanic Heritage Month," which we have been reflected on. It is easy to forget that terms like "Hispanic" are colonial categories that cannot hold distinct peoples, lineages, cultures, and nations it tries to define. The survival of Indigeneity through colonization, displacement, and erasure is political.
We honor our Latine/a/o families by sharing stories, creating meaningful experiences, raising funds for direct aid, and protecting community dignity. The Undocu-Relief Fund is just as necessary today was it was during the first spikes in ICE raids across the country. The target of Black and Brown communities will not stop until the complete abolishment of these colonial systems. We know it's hard to see our neighbors suffer, but we must all be witnesses to oppression and resistance.
Check out our most recent URF testimony -- any donations are appreciated and always return to the community. Thank you to everyone who continues sharing our work to others.
